Why we built three products instead of one

Most software companies pick a product and scale it. We didn't plan it that way — our roadmap was written by our clients.

It started with a QR code

Votie began with restaurants. Owners wanted to know what guests really thought before the one-star review appeared — not three weeks later in a survey nobody answers. The answer had to be effortless: a QR code on the table, a question, thirty seconds, done. No app, no login.

Then Québec casinos adopted Votie, and something interesting happened: they didn't just point it at guests. They pointed it at employees. Thousands of staff working around the clock suddenly had a frictionless way to say what was working and what wasn't.

Feedback revealed something bigger

When employees can finally speak, some of what they say doesn't belong in a feedback dashboard. Harassment. Safety risks. Misconduct. These reports need two things ordinary feedback tools can't provide: real anonymity for the person reporting, and defensible documentation for the employer.

That's why SignalitUP exists. It keeps the part of Votie that works — scan a QR code, speak in under a minute — and adds what compliance demands: two-way anonymous chat, timestamped tamper-evident audit trails, and coverage for Ontario's Bill 168, Québec's Loi 42 and Law 25, and PIPEDA — hosted in Canada.

And then the knowledge problem

By this point, our clients were having thousands of conversations — feedback, reports, follow-ups, meetings about all of it. The knowledge was piling up in places nobody could find it. note2it started as the fix: meetings transcribed and summarized automatically, notes filed into structured notebooks.

Then AI assistants multiplied. Teams were asking Claude one thing, ChatGPT another, Perplexity a third — and none of them remembered the same things. So note2it became something bigger: through MCP, it's the shared memory that Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini can all read and write. One source of truth, whichever AI you ask.

The thread

Three products, one pattern: make it effortless for people to speak, make sure someone listens, and keep what you learn. We didn't design that thesis on a whiteboard — we found it by following our clients' needs, one product at a time.
